Caol Ila 9yo 2014 (57,6%)
Deze Caol Ila heeft 7 jaar gerijpt in een refill hogshead gevolgd door twee jaar in een first fill Palo Cortado hogshead.

We anticipated a top-notch Palo Cortado cask would leave a significant mark on our Caol Ila but we never expected this to exceeded our expectations. From the first sniff, you’re drawn into a refined world where subtle fruity smokiness intertwines with exotic fruit and ripe pear, deepened by walnuts and a whisper of bacon. A fresh green apple peel aroma adds a vibrant, unmistakable Caol Ila note. On the palate, this whisky is a masterclass in balance, raisins, sugar syrup, a touch of cinnamon, and a hint of Indian cake blend seamlessly within a silky, syrupy body. The alcohol is perfectly integrated, enhancing the experience without overwhelming it. The finish is lively, with a slight tingle, and the scent of burning birch wood, ash, and fruity peat dances alongside green apple, a hint of lime, and delicate sherry notes. It’s a whisky that leaves a lasting impression—rich, complex, and utterly remarkable. A truly unforgettable dram.
Port Dundas 14yo 2009 (59,7%)

We’ve ‘cracked’ the single grain code before, and we’ll keep delivering lively single grains that will leave you speechless! The nose is rich and full, with aromas that fill the room like a warm breeze. Sweet, earthy notes blend seamlessly with nutty nuances and an enchanting mix of spices. Amontillado profile of pure elegance, where each layer of fragrance draws you deeper into the glass. Walnuts, crystallized sugar, meatiness, Baharat spices, charcoal, and beeswax merge into a refined yet powerful aroma. With the first sip, a stunning interplay of flavors unfolds. She’s gently on the tongue with a waxy texture that feels wonderfully juicy. Tantalizing spiciness spreads throughout your mouth, with a subtle dryness of walnuts in the background, it’s hard to believe this is a single grain whisky. Then it’s grand finale time! Spicy rye notes reveal the whisky’s true nature, complemented by meatiness, smoked pepper, rum raisins, figs, macadamias, and a hint of raspberry, leading to a warm, rich finish.

So, we proudly present our next Bastard! Bastard No. 3 opens with a captivating nose, like uncovering a dusty treasure from an old dunnage warehouse. Aromas of candied peach candy, honey and licorice wafts through the air, mingling with subtle wood notes that hint at the Bastards depth and complexity. Did someone mention ‘popcorn’? The nose invites you to explore its layers. A few drops of water reveal delicate floral scents and a sparkling fruitiness, reminiscent of a spring morning in a blossoming orchard. On the palate, a playful yet layered flavor profile unfolds. Can this really be just 7 years old? Dutch ‘trekdrop’ licorice dominates, with rich, deep licorice flavors making a strong impression. Tutti Frutti and candied fruit add a cheerful sweetness that keeps everything in balance. The alcohol stays in the background, letting the funky character shine. The finish is elegant, with licorice notes returning, now accompanied by subtle charcoal, rooibos, and a hint of sweet-sour fruit compote, providing a surprising and refreshing contrast.
